Ba Be Lake lies in
the middle of a vast limestone mountain range of
Ba Be District, Bac Kan Province, 180 km
north-west of Ha Noi, belong to the commune of
Nam Mau, Khang Ninh, Cao Thuong, Quang Khe, Cao
Tri. |

Ba Be Lake is
the biggest one in northern of Viet Nam. It’s 8
kilometer long, 3 kilometer wide, 20m -30m deep
and narrow in the middle. There are two small
islands emerging in the middle of the lake. One
of them looks like a horse, so it is called An
Ma. Ba Be Lakes area has
a lot to offer, including waterfalls, rivers,
valleys, lakes, and caves all set amidst
picturesque landscapes.Ba Be Lakes, located 145
meters above sea level, are among the largest
natural lakes in Vietnam with a total surface
area of 500 hectares. |

Ba Be resort is
240km far from Hanoi. The only way to get there
is going by car (about 8 hours). Almost tourists
get there by hired car for initiatively. From Hanoi, you go
along highway No 3, pass Thai Nguyen. From Bac
Kan, continue going 40 km to Ba Be (near Ra
market). |
